GÉNIA'S 'SWEET MEMORIES' APPEARS IN ITV SHOW "STICKS & STONES"

If you were watching ITV’s series Sticks and Stones, you may have noticed GéNIA’s piece ‘Sweet Memories’ was appeared in one of the episodes. The new ITV drama comes from the makers of Doctor Foster and Trauma and is now available on the ITV hub for you to catch up. Of course, this is not the first time GéNIA’s music has been played on television recently as she had her music placed in the well-known ITV series 'Cold Feet' and the highly acclaimed BBC America TV drama 'Killing Eve'.You can listen to the track ‘Sweet Memories’ here. GÉNIA VISITS HARRIS ACADEMY

On the 6th of December 2019, GéNIA was asked by the Harris Academy in St John’s Wood to inspire the young musicians of the school. GéNIA spoke about her childhood and early musical experiences learning piano from her grandmother and about her further musical education winning a scholarship to the Guildhall School of Music. The pupils heard about GéNIA’s first concert and about how her music was used in TV shows such as Killing Eve and Cold Feet. GéNIA also gave them a special insight into how her recently released album for Universal on the Chappell label was composed. GéNIA’s talk was followed by a lively and enthusiastic Q & A session, which lasted almost as long as the talk! GéNIA had a wonderful time talking to the students of the Harris Academy and was thrilled to see the young talent at the school.

GéNIA's new piano solo album 'Memory Waves ' written for Universal Music, is due for release on the 29th of November 2019 on Chapell Label.
Consisting of 10 piano solo pieces, it represents various moods; from darkness to light, from the intimate melodies to the grand opening chords, it aims to take the listener through the range of emotions.
The album will be available on all main digital channels, including Spotify!
WHAT ACTUALLY HAPPENED AT GÉNIA'S PIANO-YOGA® EVENT IN LONDON
Latin Vibes: More piano or yoga?
When 'Latin Vibes' was announced, no-one (including GéNIA) was 100% sure about what to expect. The idea was to introduce yoga to the classical music audience, and offer them simple, short exercises to get them interested in this discipline. Hence, GéNIA decided to do a healthy mix of performance and physical yoga, alternating them one after another.
However, the audience which arrived was very different to the one which was expected. Around 30 participants came armed with yoga mats, beautifully prepared and dressed in immaculate yogic outfits. The concept of the evening was changed there and then.
'I was the one who enjoyed it the most ' said GéNIA. 'When else does an artist have the opportunity to stretch their body, ground their spirit and then go straight to the piano, many times over in front of their audience! The concert hall became one big yoga practice space, where the spirit of people was united!' I loved playing there and was touched by the beautiful feedback which I received. This event was the first one in the series which I will be launching next year and I am very grateful to everyone who came and had this wonderful experience with me. I don't teach pure yoga these days, but I love doing it!

Earlier this year GéNIA was invited to give an unusual piano concert for Echoes Festival by the Iberian and Latin American Music Society and Instituto Cervantes London. She will be offering an immersive, holistic concert experience which she describes below:
'The programme is inspired by the Latin composers Domenico Scarlatti, Federico Mompou, Astor Piazzolla and my own compositions from the recently released album 'Babylon', as well as from my new forthcoming album 'Memory Waves' which I recently wrote for the Universal Music.
Piano and yoga are two of my biggest passions and, as yoga means union, my goal is to bring my public closer to connect with themselves through listening to the beautiful music of the mystical Mompou, delicate Scarlatti, and exciting Piazzolla whilst inviting you to try various yoga postures and small sequences which I feel will go hand in hand with the music. No previous yoga experience is necessary. Just bring a yoga mat, and an open mind.'
There is an option just to listen to the concert and enjoy the complimentary glass of wine kindly provided by Rubero del Duero wine merchant at the reception after the event, where you will have the opportunity to meet GéNIA and ask her questions you may have.

GéNIA is excited to announce the release of 250 Limited Edition canvas artworks based on the design of her popular single ‘Babylon’ which has received great public recognition since its release in 2017.
Created by the company ‘Colors’, long-standing collaborators of GéNIA’s, this image conveys the vibrancy and vitality of the music.
The size of the canvas is 12x12" and comes with hanging options. It can be purchased from our online shop.

GéNIA recently appeared on Jo Good's Radio London 94.9 show to talk about her concert 'Love in the City' which took place on July 24th at Burgh House in Hampstead. It was great to see so many BBC listeners at the concert after hearing GéNIA's 'Sweet Memories' and 'Mon Amour' which she played live. GéNIA also premiered two new compositions on the night.
In the interview, GéNIA spoke about her family and the influence it had on her music.

GÉNIA TO PREMIERE TWO NEW COMPOSITIONS

GéNIA is excited to announce the premiere of her two new piano solo compositions, which will take place at her next concert 'Love in the City' on the 24 July 2019 at the Burgh House and Hampstead Museum in London.
One of them was specially written for this occasion. Another comes from the new piano solo series called 'Studies for the Sole'.

THE ENIGMATIC SINGER NICK CELINO JOINS GÉNIA AT HER CONCERT AT THE OTHER PALACE

Fantastic singer Nick Celino joined GéNIA at her show “Babylon’ at The Other Palace on the 9th of May to sing the song which she co-wrote with Jeff Chegwin. Nick has recently appeared on Russia’s biggest TV show ‘Evening Urgant’ singing to 60 million viewers, as well as on Britain’s Got Talent four years ago.
Nick has just signed to New Heights Entertainment in Hollywood (the team behind Lady Gaga’s hitmaker producer & songwriter RedOne) and his new single is due for release this summer, mixed by Ariana Grande’s producer.
It was GéNIA’s debut as a song writer and she is now working on a number of songs to be released later in the year.

GÉNIA HAS BEEN NOMINATED FOR THE FUTURE CLASSIC WOMEN AWARDS BY THE WOMEN’S RADIO STATION

Recently GéNIA has been nominated for & became a finalist in the Future Classic Women Awards by Women’s Radio Station. It happened as she gave an extensive interview to the wonderful charismatic host, who is also a concert pianist and a voting member of the Recording Academy/Grammy’s, Stefania Passamonte.
They talked about many things: GéNIA’s new album Babylon, her family history, the current education system, politics (yes, this was also in the conversation!) and some of the funny moments in GéNIA’s career.
There are many other amazing women musicians who have been nominated, and, seriously speaking, we truly believe that it is almost impossible to compare original artists, as every talent is unique and this is what makes us all special.

NEW SHOW IS ANNOUNCED! GÉNIA: BABYLON

GéNIA has had to announce another show as a result of her sold out performance of ‘Babylon’ earlier this year. The show is celebrating the launch of GéNIA’s new album ‘Babylon’, which is released on the 29 March as a musical reference to the historical period during which the glowing Babylon region progressed to the most advanced level, only to be destroyed by its own residents.
By drawing attention to the past, GéNIA hopes that her audience will become more aware of the parallels to events which our society is going through today, in order to prevent the decline of its current highly advanced state.
Two of the pieces from the album enjoyed placements in the critically acclaimed BBC America TV Series ‘Killing Eve’ and the popular British TV Series ‘Cold Feet’.
