GéNIA - St Paul

GéNIA - St Paul

‘St Paul’ is dedicated to Saint-Paul-de-Vence, a beautiful village in the south of France which GéNIA visited in the past. One of the oldest medieval towns on the French Riviera, it is well known for its modern and contemporary art galleries and museums, as well as the famous Saint-Paul de Vence's cemetery, which includes the grave of Marc Chagall, who lived in the village for many years.

The place was also popular with remarkable artists including Jean-Paul Sartre and Pablo Picasso. During the 1960s, the village was frequented by French actors  Yves Montand,  Simone Signoret and, Lino Ventura, and poet  Jacques Prévert. The scenery and the energy of the place, with its creativity and beauty made a strong impression on GéNIA and therefore she dedicated ‘St Paul’ to this artistic village.

This is the third piece in GéNIA's Series ‘Voyages Français’.  They were inspired by GéNIA‘s frequent journeys to her beloved France, the country where GéNIA first started to compose, influenced by the nature, art, local food and, of course, wonderful people who she met on her journeys.
